   1932   First Murphy superhet receiver appears

   1933 Receivers for use on DC mains supplies now offered

   1934 Red paint causes consternation

1935 Station names appear on the tuning scale

1936 Mains and battery receiver cabinet designs diverge

1937 Shortwave reception arrives, along with the alphabetical tuning drum

  1938   Pushbuttons and motor tuning, even more sophisticated than Ekco

  1939    Remote control becomes an option (but at a hefty price)
